"Everything was fine until Bob realised that this time it wasn't juat a
dream..."
Credit for the idea goes to Andrew (who I hate to admit it, was inspired
by certain real life events:-) I didn't quite do it but I got to close.
It was about then that I decided I needed a few hours more sleep!

I'm not using EMACS. I'm normally a VIM-coder, and I also use that for my ascii-art. (No, I never touched gVIM =) One of those 24*80 terms is perfect! I double that - since I got vim I don't use any else editor anymore (just on system that doesn't have it - but there I prefer nvi nevertheless ;) > (No, I never touched gVIM =) It's not that bad - especially if you are forced to work under WinNT, e.g. DOS-Vim wouldn't do it there. Hey, I'm posting this with Vim under WinNT, if you mind.... > One of those 24*80 terms is perfect! Damned right! > (Only thing is I get inverted image here... =( but hey! ) You know about the ":hi normal ctermfg=white ctermbg=black", don't you? :) And one quote about EMACS (which really stands for "Eight MegAbytes of Continuous Swapping") (by heart, I don't have the exact quote here): "EMACS is a good OS. The only thing it lacks is a decent text-editor. That's why I use Vim!" -- don't know the name yet Have fun! -- Gerfried Fuchs <URL:mailto:alf...@innocent.com> <URL:http://alfie.ist.org/alfie/>

Actually, that's a lie - I used it while telnetted into a BSD system before that. vi is quite a nifty editor, but since I usually do my ASCII Art on my Windows machine, I haven't really used it for ASCII much yet. That's exactly what I was talking about - I'm even using it under Windows. Vim that is, of cause ;) Take a look at <http://www.vim.org/> and you'll find the way to the Win32-Binary package quite easy. Be sure to get at least version 5.5 for it has a really capable blockmode.
