First Attempt

I've been lurking in this group for awhile and finally decided to give it
a try on my own instead of just pillaging. I think a lot of the art found
here is really incredible.
I am hoping to get some suggestions on how to fix my ol' buddy Bert's mouth:

This is my first attempt EVER at Ascii Art. I think it looks okay, but I
know it can be better. Anyone have any suggestions? (Or any ideas on how
I can create the effect that the ears are flopped over?) I need all the
criticism I can get!
Also, I did this in WordPad with the font Courier. Is there a better
font?

Firstly, please post in plain text not HTML mode.
As for fonts/editors, I recommend using NotePad and it's default font,
fixedsys. In Win98, you can choose the font notepad uses, which is pretty
nifty. If you want a real power text editor try TextPad www.textpad.com
which has a few features that really help with ascii art.
Nice pic, by the way!
