Here's a simple attempt at sunrise over stonehenge:

                             |

Here's an attempt to copy from a photo I took there in 1990. I
haven't drawn the people (it was festival time :-) so as not to
obscure the stones (and because it was too hard) but I've drawn
the guy who was leaning against the big stone to give an idea of
the size:

Well this was much harder than I thought it would be. I feel as though I
totally failed on this one, but here is what I came up with: Small
ascii-art is not possible for Stonehenge.

I never visited Stonehenge, but I allways imagined the place was as
impressive and sinister as you depict.

mmmm... Maybe this year... I haven't planned my holiday yet. :)

P.S. What is your exact nick? You use miK in your email address and mic in
your sig. Wanted to bring this up, always forgot about it.

I have been wondering why mic's (or miK's) tree struck me so much, I think
that's because it is scalable in a various ways, for example:

      db
     d88b           I award five stars! *****
    d8888b         /
   d888888b      oo.
      88        (-  )
     d88b        " "

   :)

The pine-forest was supposed to be an "arty" rendition of the song i
can't get out of my neural system since the Deck of Cards thread...

   ``````----====the Ace of Spades, the A's of Spades====----'''''
          *               *               *               *
         d8b             d8b             d8b             d8b
        d888b           d888b           d888b           d888b
       d88888b         d88888b         d88888b         d88888b
         d8b             d8b             d8b             d8b
      *       *       *       *       *       *       *       *
     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b
    d888b   d888b   d888b   d888b   d888b   d888b   d888b   d888b
   d88888b d88888b d88888b d88888b d88888b d88888b d88888b d88888b
     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b     d8b
But on second view it could be an "arty" rendition of *anything*, i
guess. :) Snowy mountain tops... the Klan dressed up for Xmas...
Mic's my real name. "miK" i once filled in in the "full name" field when
the mailprog asked to do so. Can't remember *why* though... I guess it's
because "Ik" means _i_ in Dutch.
Conclusion/statement: "miK"'s my nick and from now on i'll sign the
postings as such. Comprende?!? :)
The composition is too regularly structured to be a fractal. Use the basic
element, but randomize the structure and it will more resemble a fractal in
the usual sense. There are ascii fractals using simple triangles. They are
great candidates for animation, but I fear that the visual impact of animated
ascii fractals is tacky compared to the real thing.
