color-penguin art searched

i would like to have some color-penguin art.
has anyone got such pics, or is there a program which could convert me
some gifs to COLOR ascii-art?

There's no such thing as color ascii-art. You're talking about ANSI, and
you're on the wrong newsgroup.

Perhaps he is... however, the colored
ASCII art that you'll find at my website
(and at Allen Mullen's site) is not ANSI.
It has been colorized with HTML tags.

There are programs that will convert gif
files to ASCII, albeit the results are not
all that great.  However, the results are
black/white.  As far as I know, there are
none that elicit ASCII results in color.
ANSI is probably the way to go.

 How do you intend to render the colours? it can't be done in pure ascii
 ...though it can in HTML, & there are some coloured penguins on my page
