But of course, what with the occasion and the merriment and the drink, she
forgot all about it, and wasn't home at midnight. At 2 a.m. she was still
out, and at 3, and finally she staggered in at 4:30 looking bleary-eyed
but well pleased with herself.
"Well, I warned you, you weren't back, so I turned your snatch into a pumpkin,
as promised. Tough."
"Yes fairy G, I was warned, I accept it."
"Well I must say you don't seem all that bothered! Wasn't the prince at least
a bit non-plussed?"
"Oh no," said Cinders, "He went home soon after midnight. I spent the rest
of the night with someone else. We had a lovely time!"
