Saruman's Tower at Orthanc, Isengard

As I remember it from the film (which I saw weeks ago, and can't really remember
very much about, save for the spiked top).

Can anyone diddle it, correcting my poor memory ?

The picture there doesn't really show all of the tower of Orthanc; it was the
top part that really struck me.

I know that it's a bit thin, but then in the film, Gandalf was imprisoned on the
flat bit at the top, between the four spiked spires.  In size terms, Gandalf
would be about the size of the windows I put in the tower's side.  And it was a
very tall tower, so I thought the scale looked OK.

Wasn't sure about the base of the tower at all.

I did look on the net for a picture of Orthanc from the film, but I couldn't see
anything helpful.

If someone could find me a picture of the whole thing (top-to-bottom) I'll try
and do better.

But I don't think it's too bad myself, even if it's not quite like the one in
the film.

Whaddya think of my shading ??  Whole thing's done by hand, BTW.

Have you consider just doing the top part ?

google--search--tower of Orthanc, there are some versions of the tower on the 
first couple of pages. Ideas worth taking a look at.

have not practice shading all that much. but when there is a question
bring the font size to 4pt and it is usaully seen
