As said.
Yes, I read the faq, but no link seems to be active anymore.
Yes, tried some search engines, only found a MAC version.

Thanks for any info

That's my fault -- I'm the FAQ maintainer, but I've been a wee bit busy
over the past few months, er, the past year, so I haven't had time to
update it. (I hardly even have time to post to a.a-a any more ... sigh.)

However, some rummaging through my
things-which-I'm-going-to-put-in-the-FAQ-one-day folder reveals the
following links to various converters. (And I've just checked all these
links, so they should work for you.)

Bitmap 2 Ascii (for Windows):
	http://members.tripod.com/bitmap2ascii/

Email Effects (for Windows or MacOS):
	http://www.sigsoftware.com/emaileffects/

GIFA (looks like this one's for DOS, but I can't tell for sure):
	http://users.skynet.be/pascalbe/ascii.html

Charac (for Windows 3.1):
	http://openlab.ring.gr.jp/fumio/#Windows

Various ASCII art programs, including Gifscii (for MacOS):
	http://home.sol.no/~ekveland/download/Ascii/

Er ... and that's about it. But if you do a Web search for gifscii.exe
you should find the DOS program *somewhere*.

Hah! So a newbie lured you in! Honestly, I'm quite impressed by any FAQ
maintainer.
It does take a lot of time.

Link ok, but invalid ZIPfile.

Well, this is already a lot more than needed! Thanks a lot.
Now I feel obliged to work on my sig...
I feel it needs some revision if I'd continue posting in this group ;)

Ahh.. that will save me a lot of time explaining.
Everyone with ten fingers should be able to figure it out but...

Thanks, Matthew

Sheeesh!

Don't tell them until after they have thrown the 2000 party. Then we
can get an second party for 2001 without losing the 2000 one.

The only thing special about 2000, is that it, like the
2000-millennium believers' IQ's, has three zeroes in it.
