that depends on if your os has drivers for your coffie maker. I'm sure the community would appreciate it if someone wrote a generic open source driver for use with all coffee machines. Unfortunately mine only has a Windows driver, which is very inconvenient. I've found that while using Windows alcohol is usually more appropriate than coffee.
