Greetings. I can't find anywhere to make a start with ascii art. Please can someone tell me where to look to start from scratch! Thanks. Philip.

It does'nt cover shading (yet) My tutorial takes a more technical approach to creating ascii images , explaining how to draw good lines and shapes - Other tutorials deals with the process of creation. I use mine as a referencesheet for my own creations. Make a big circle, thats a good way to start figuring out how things fit together. Once you get the circle put something inside it. Ahh .. why did'nt you say so ? :) OK - You are using the Outlook Express 6 that came with Windows XP. (I know - I'm psychic ;) Go choose "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Read" and set both font to Courier New .. you can set the size to whatever you like .. I choose "smaller" on my PC. You can do the same thing with the "Send" options .. set the fonts to Courier New (and about 9 point that works for me) Now you can see Ascii-art in Outlook Express You can in a similar way set Notepad and other program to use Courier New or another fixed-width font you like .. most people go either Courier New or Lucinda Console .. but there are others too. Then you can see the art as they were meant to be seen. And create some of your own too ;) Kind Regards CeeJay

Well, you can either start from scratch -- just fiddling around... or you can use a converter program. It's more fun to fiddle about, though. It's more difficult to get things right. Plus, if you use a converter prog. then the picture may not end up being the right size... But it all depends. ----- TAL2001: "I want... an avocado."

I've only just got version 6.00.2600.0000. Microsoft told me that there were updates available.......so I downloaded it. Does that answer the question? Philip.
