ASCII and mIRC - for Joan

Hi Joan,
    The answer to your question is probably open for debate, but I'll
give you the guidelines I use for displaying art when using mIRC to 
access the IRC networks.
    Ideally, the art should be 17 lines or less high and 50 characters
or less wide.  Linewrap on IRC presents the same problems experienced
here.  Keeping the art under 50 characters wide prevents linewrap.  The
height of 17 lines allows the text to appear on the screen without the
need for scrolling to see the entire artwork at once.  It also allows
a blank line beneath the art and then a one line advisory on how to
get the file automatically from the person who displays it.
    The advent of color to clients such as mIRC and pirch have caused
quite a discussion as to whether it is a boon or a bane.  The control
codes needed to display color appear as gibberish to those not using
either mIRC or pirch.  I won't attempt to defend or define those
arguements here, they are best saved for the alt.irc newsgroups.
    Without rambling on any further and drifting far outside the
boundaries of alt.ascii-art, I'll simply express my thanks once again

Also in some servers (on dalnet and efnet anyway) u get disconnected for 
playing some ascii cos they think u're flooding
