I'm at a university that has a few Sun workstations (not quite silicon
graphics, they're a few years old), and I recently joined a few
format2format graphics things together in a pipe and came up with this:

giftoppm $1 | ppmtopgm | pgmtopbm | pbmtoascii

gif2ascii for short.

Now, much as I'd like to translate files for you, I can't, so I suggest
someone out there contacts Sun and sees if they can either give out the
sourcecode, or else give the name of a vendor who sells such a utility.

Disclaimer: I accept no responsibility if Sun doesn't want to know. :p :)
