The client wanted me to add something to the laptop to make it more
laptopy. They wanted a mouse. Because you know a laptop doesn't look
like a laptop without a detached mouse. Right. I advised a cord might
be a better touch and they went with it.
I was very happy with the true ascii grit that came through on this
one.
Is anyone reading this?

I'm still reading a.a-a every day, just not posting a lot. The laptop looks converted to me, could you decribe your workflow ? Did you draw the laptop first and then use a converter or did you use a photo .. followed by manual cleanup and detail work ? That's how I personally like to very complex drawings .. get the outline right first with a conversion and then rediddle almost everything by hand. I'm personally guessing Jave was involved because I see signs of the gradient dithering technique I originally suggested to Markus. It works great btw.

Put emacs in picture-mode and hand draw everything. This was the only drawing in the series series that was partially converted. I always sign drawing done via a converter with :AA: in addition to the :F_P: since aalib is my converter of choice. It seems that on this piece the :AA: was left out in error. I checked all of the other parts of this series and none of them used a converter. I don't use Jave since I never had any luck with getting it to run a few years ago. I use aalib when I do decide to use a converter which is not very often. > I'm personally guessing Jave was involved because I see signs of the gradient > dithering technique I originally suggested to Markus. It works great btw. Here is the original aalib conversion that I fortunatly saved in my notes: E777999V(; P779090(;;;v>``xxvx>_;x<I B777979V;;;v<```<v>;;;;x=v}}=}=}=}}v==><5 97?(;;<<>```<<;;..;<x<<vvvv<vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv}}}}v};/ ,<..;;;;`;;;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<<<<v<vvvvvvvvvv}vv}}}}}(<1 b<(:::``;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<<<<<<<<<<<<v<v<vvvvvvvv}v}/;E /< ::::::``;;;;;;;;;;;<;;;<<<<<<<<<<<<v<v<vvvvvvvx`/ L;': ::::::::``;;;;;;;;;;;;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<v<<v<vv<(<T ><. : ::::::`:;``;;;;;;;;<;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<<v<.> b`; : ::::::``;;;;;;;;;;;<;;<;<<<<<<<<(`I ,< : :::::::````;;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<<.;5 b:; : ::::::``;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<:!E ,< : :::::::``;;;;;;;;;;.;I b:: :::::::````;;;;.;5 >; : :::::::``:`/ b:: :::::: ;T ,; :: ` b:: :__.:! r: : ;__;; `^~ ] b : : `:::::;;; `~``;;;_x>xo>v`>!9E r : ` : : ;;;.:`` :;.;;>><<x`ix;^;()0';_>:`!9EE L : . __u,: :,;.:`~` .;;;x~\ts>``<x(ir;x_>Yr;==(<=>(>^(x;>)9QE ,: !x;::^~`:.;.;;<;;;x>>><=;X?(__/wr;==>Vn;=>}3x=1r\()_x;x}}(;(95E D` :;.;xx}=X=<(`x(;7tx_>{x'}=x?=x_}~V9>uy>;=_>xxu>}}x}~>`:)<);;>v<]9E b :<>~xv..<}(.V=(x=}^=x_x>}}_xv>.;(>{v()}vvx<~`;V(;)v<vv<vvvvvv}v}}x}]NEE u;.:<;:\=(xx>>~x);)=>;==>Y=(;==v}}>~`x};_u)>xvv<vvvvvvvvvvvvvxx}vx}}}}==NEk y. :<;~{nx=}x<x_`<w_>?x( `}(;;usu}VXbuuxvvv)>vvvvvvx<xvvxx}=x===}~^^`:;Ik EEy, :`;:~>}<_<~<;}(;<<<<<<<<<>v<xv<vvvvvvvvvv)v<xvx=}=<~~^~`:: :`;;:_ydk L, :<;(;;<;<<<<<<;<<<<<<<<<<<x<vv<vvvvxxxx=>~~~`: :::`: iuuuaE y, `<><<<<<<<<<<<<<<xxvx>vvvvv=>~~~~`::: : : _uuua L, `>>><<<<><>v<vvvvvx~`::` : ::_uuua y, `v<<vv<x>~>^` `: 7 _uuug L, ~~` :` _uuua L,: _uuua LaE And here is the finish after the hand editing and the proper inclusion of the :AA: ..,.oooE777999V(; ...oooP779090(;'' '''' I ...ooB777979V;;'' .....=v}}=}=}=}}v== 5 97?(;'' .........<<vvvv<vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv}}}}v} L , ..;;`;;;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<<<<v<vvvvvvvvvv}vv}}}}}. 1 b (:::``;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<<<<<<<<<<<<v<v<vvvvvvvv}v}, E `J ::.:.:.``;;;;;;;;;;;<;;;<<<<<<<<<<<<v<v<vvvvvvvx L L :. :.:.:.:.``;;;;;;;;;;;;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<v<<v<vv<( T `> . . .:.:.:.:.`:;``;;;;;;;;<;;;<;<<<<<<<<<<<v< > b ; . : .:.:.:.`;;;;;;;;;;;<;;<;<<<<<<<<, I `,` . : :.:.:.:.`.`;;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<<. 5 b ; . : .:.:.:.`;;;;;;;;;;;<;<;<: E `,< . . .:.:.:.``;;;;;;;;;;.
