Has anyone got a kiwi??

The bird, that is, not the fruit.    Any pix?

And a moa as well, would be even better!

BTW, for any non-kiwis here, you may like to know there were two basic
genera of moas - the bush moas and the lawn moas...

I have something that might distantly resemble a Moa. Might. I used a
cartoonistic rendering of one of the birds... on top of that it's one of my

 He definately needs some tweaking - legs, and the beak/head I just couldn't
get right. The neck looks a little funny too. Sorry, as I said, this is one
of my first.

S'nice.  There were various species of Moa, ranging from a mere 4ft tall to
the massive 12ft monsters that were the biggest birds alive.  Despite all
evidence to the contrary they still exist too -- to prove it here's an
ascci representation of a photo I took in Central Otago late 1995...

Also in the pic a lesser spotted giant Kiwi, which must be nearly 2feet
tall itself if the scale of the photo is to be trusted.  Fun fact: from a
purely ornithilogical POV the Kiwi is unique amongst the world's birdlife
in that its nostrils are located at the end of the beak -- thus allowing it
to sniff out the bugs, worms, and half-empty twinkie packets hidden under
the dead leaf litter on the floor of NZ's temperate rainforests.

Another one probably from the same source as I have never heard 
or seen one. While looking Moa`s up ran across a story of an 
individaul that claimed to have seen one. And then reported it 
to the authorties. This made the news an TV, after it was debunk 
to a deer. The individaul claimed injuries while hunting for moas 
as this made the TV and the news also, it was clear that the 
individaul was not injured at that time. But somewhere else. 

First embarrassment an then ridicule, then charge for fruad
