3-D: layers of trees

This is an unfinished picture that didn't quite work out.  The problem
is I started from the front layer and worked back, when I should have
started from the back and worked forward.  Oh well.  Next time I'll
get it right.

... i don't know what your problem is. To me it looks pretty well in both 2D 
_AND_ 3D.

that was partly what I was trying for.  It's just, it didn't really
match my vision of what I wanted to make.  Partly, the back layer
isn't dense enough.  And I think I wanted another layer or two, but I
ran out of room by the time I reached the back.
