I`ve just installed AOL 2.51 and after hacking about with it I`ve managed to
change the font in the email compostion window (I`m assuming that the news
window is about the same, but I can`t get that without making an AOL
account!). What I need is a 5 character long Monospaced font (since the name
'Arial' is 5 chars long) and I don`t know of any... perhaps someone can help
me make an AOL fixed-width patch by giving me a font with a 5-letter name?
I`ll also work on doing the same with v3.0 of which I have about ten trial
CDs! :o)

The name of a font is stored in various formats and dozens of places in a .TTF file... easiest thing is go grab a shareware font program and rename it there:) > ... IIRC you need to rename it somewhere inside the font file as well as renaming the file itself, but that shouldn't be too difficult. ... I hadn`t thought of changing the font's name instead of AOL's font. :o)
I think it's fun ripping AOL's software to pieces though... but I need a
better hex editor since AOL 3's file containing the font is too big for
mine!
I`m sure in AOL UK had sent out their 4.0 CDs I would have ten of them by
now! I get sent them all the time for some reason. Shame really that I
wouldn`t go on AOL even if they paid me.
