The simplest solution would be to dump AOL and get a *real* ISP. On top of
AOL's many problems, such as the one you just mentioned, it's also a
rip-off. Why pay $12.95 a month + $3 an hour when most ISP's are $15-$20 a
month (unlimited usage) and offer the same features if you know where to
look.

Yes. Change your options to a monospaced [typewriter] font.

The only way I know of is to save the text as a file then view the file
in an application that uses a monospaced font (such as in Notepad or
MS-DOS Edit).

Actually, it's $19.95 a month for 20 hours and about $3 per hour after
that. I use AOL, but never leave the service. Got a few friends there that
won't venture out onto the 'net, and their Free-form gaming forum is kinda
amusing to hang around...

Get a real 'net provider. There are plenty with MUCH cheaper rates. Of
course, none with all the "even a 3-year-old could do it" features, but...

The ascii art looking wrong could have something to do with the font your
news reader is using.  Try changing it to a proportional font like MS
Serif.
