t-shirts, mugs, mousepads, posters, etc....

I was wondering how many people would actually be interested in
purchasing products with ascii pictures on them.

I have a tool on my site that converts jpegs to ascii art......and I
was thinking of allowing people to then have the resulting ascii art
be printed on a t-shirt, mug, etc.....

Please check out my site and let me know if anybody would actually be
interested in buying

I would ask Joaquim Gandara about that.  He has done some stuff for
NerdBoy and could give you solid numbers on how many people really
buy.

I have loads of them on my system.  In fact yesturday 5824 mentioned
in her live journal that she had seen a porno movie converted into
ascii art.

I've got one of Joaquim's NerdBoy t-shirts.

It's really very high quality, not like some "print-your-own-tshirt"
manufacturers on the web.

The design hasn't faded at all yet, despite my wearing it while drumming,
jogging, and generally arsing around the house in it (plus multiple washes
and spin-drys).

I can't quite recall the price, though - but it's definitely worth every
penny.

I've sold 12 items since August 4th 2002; 6 mugs, 4 shirts and
2 mousepads.

That is very cool, not just that it doesn't fade easily, but that you're
actually wearing it. I can't even imagine that. Any photos?

I kept meaning to buy a mouse mat (I collect them) but I have not had any
spare money in quite some time  :o(

Heehee  -  It's dress-down day at work (no shirt-and-ties required) - so I
have my NerdBoy T-Shirt on now.

I will get someone to take my photo with my digital camera a little later if
poss.

I was very surprised that the quality of the print was so good. I think
the print is actually under the glass (I scratch it with my nail and
feel *nothing*, unlike the rough unpleasant feeling I expected! I look
at a reflection against a lamp and see no "structure" like with other
similar mugs I have seen...)
