Let me ask if you have ANSI.SYS loaded in your CONFIG.SYS file? And after
that, do you have a viewer for ansi files? Or perhaps ans2exe? That might
help you a bit. The codes are still there, you just can't see them w/o the
proper devices.

Well on my dosbox, running DOS 3.20 with no colour and no graphics,
it didn't. The type command produced exactly the picture I posted.
All other ASCII and ANSI animations have been OK - Pearl Jam
appeared in ASCII _not_ ANSI - no doubt because it was written
specifically for colour and/or for graphics mode. I don't know now
because I have deleted the original file. It is no big deal anyway :-)
