Ascii art is not the world's easiest activity. Neither is kitty cat juggling but that's a different story. The artists, at least those that have spent enough time away from their computer to know the current fashion trends, are spending lots of time creating ascii art (those hackers using conversion programs to create their "ascii art" are being hunted down and prosecuted by Columbo). Please, please, please, if an artist emails you some art due to a request, take it upon yourself to write that person a short but sweet thank you email letting them know how much you appreciate their efforts. It would also be nice if you were to write thank you's to artists whose art postings on this newsgroup you decide to clip and save. By showing your appreciation, the artists will be moved to tears and decide to create more masterpieces. If artists do not receive feedback, they will probably decide to use their free time to build computer viruses such as the Texas Virus (which merely hogs data space and insists on being the largest program/file in your hard drive). They will also decide to stop drawing ascii art for your consumption. So please be kind to these starving artists (bags of chips and boxes of old pizza lay at their feet) and let them know your appreciation. Thank you for your time, Jedi Knight

Who doesn't appreciate them? I mean I can program whatever I want and
can think up intriguing story lines <sorry if that makes me sound egotistical>,
but I would be nowhere without ANSI/ASCII artists who've been kind enough to
help me along the way...
It's a talent like anything else which some, I think, tend not to
remember and thus do not show the respect that's needed...
