Mac Software?

I use EMAIL EFFECTS, a neat shareware program. I am not sure if it has all
the features you want but I use it to spice up my email a lot, though not
my newsgroup postings.

Figlet is avalible for the Mac. (In fact what I like best is that's its
availible for every patform but Windows. ;-} ) Sorry I don't happen to
have the URL handy.

I generally use Alpha and Profont for mine, when my Mac's being a Mac. 
When it's being a Linux box I use Emacs and the misc*fixed* font. If you
know Tcl or Emacs Lisp you could probably configure one of these to
overwrite for all .asc files, say.
