Beware of Pete Casso.
I figured out what he is really up to:

PETE WANTS TO MAKE THE WORLD WIDE WEB GO STEIN!

Pete is in fact an alienstein who wants to take control
of the earth.
To do so he created two little ascii characters who are
nothing else than very nasty virusesstein. Their job is to change
every net-user in net-userstein. I am sorry to say that he's
got already some of us:

- Spunkystein
- Llizardstein
- Veronicastein
- Shanakastein
- Salesmanstein

and maybe some others too. who's next? You? Me...?

Once he'll have all of us turned in net-usersstein
english will no longer be spoken on internetstein: we'll speak
englishstein only. And that my friendsstein will be the
beginingstein of the endstein. Becausestein the one who will
controlstein the Word-Wide-Webstein will be the Masterstein
of the worldstein. And Godstein only knows what will happendstein
to us thenstein.

So I tell you one more timestein:
Bewarestein of Petecassostein!

I really enjoyed Joristein's comments, particularly the one below (I am
reasonably familiar with German history and culture), it is from a
different thread but it is nevertheless characteristic.

Let me add some comments.

I hardly ever venture out of Frogstein and Birdstein related threads,
never have, probably never will. I merely cartooned everyday life with
humanized frogs, birds, ghosts, devils, etc. I mentioned no individual
names in these generic cartoons.

All of a sudden came a barrage of insults, death threats, libel,
vandalism, all kinds of perversions from the asciigangsteins, presumably
because they saw their own follies in these generic cartoons. I
incorporated these perversions in subsequent cartoons, still not
mentioning any individual names.

Over time, the worst offenders of the asciigangsteins gradually revealed
their own idiosyncrasies of their perversions, and I started to mention
individual names when cartooning idiosyncratic perversions. That was quite
recent though, about a month ago.

Yes, indeed! That would boost my already phenomenal egos!  :-)

In this context, I could have energetically opposed the socalled
"negative" comments that I received, I am positive that this is the
expectation of most readers in this newsgroup. But I only counteracted
with very mild cartoons, for various reasons. The main reason is that I
had my fun with it. One of the other reasons is that these socalled
"negative" comments only _added_ to the Frogstein and Birdstein momentum,
believe it or not. So, why should I really oppose these socalled
"negative" comments?

Or to say things the other way around, I welcome all positive and
"negative" contributions to the Frogstein and Birdstein momentum!

You know, you are probably right on this one. That's why I didn't
react before, and won't react after this. The best way to kill threads
is leaving them to die -- ignoring them that is. Which is what I am going
to do after I press the 'Send' button.

Obviously Pete doesn't mind it continuing, and I enjoy
seeing his insecurities showing up, so I would encourage
the posts ;)

Strange how everybody else can post non-feud related ascii
except for Petey-boystein.
In fact his crudity of late and his actual posts that weren't
in cartoon format seem to suggest that it is starting to affect
him :) :) :)

ROFL, if anyone actually believes that, check some his earlier
posts using Dejanews or the like! 

I jumped into the debate, cos I was curious about the mentality
of Peter Kwassostein and his multiple personalities.
Since his only replies were through rather bland cartoons, I soon got
bored. However, his insistence that there is an ascii gang, and that
anyone that offends him belongs to it was just too funny to ignore.
(take llizards daisy hat incident for instance :)

Ah, but I disagree. For example, I was faced with libel, and I could
immediately libelled back as most people do, but I did not. I bolstered my
ego (or its perception) to gain time, and find out what the hell is going
on.

Well, I gained time and _data_ (not opinions). Now I am in good shape to
throw things back at people in substantiated and effective ways!

What is going on is that you a) bored us (which is ok, not everybody can
be funny) and b) started to insult people in this newsgroup and accuse
them of mobbing you. These people, and their friends, just reacted to
that....
