ANSI/RIP ARTISTS: WIN A NEW MODEM!

The last two weeks of this contest are upon us and the pickings are very 
slim. This means the chances of winning are greatly enhanced just by 
entering!  Here's the deal.....

        Ven-Tel, Inc and TIPS BBS encourage all ANSI and RIP graphic
artists to submit designs for a new opening screen for TIPS BBS.

        To enter, create an eye-catching ANSI and/or RIP screen for
Ven-Tel's TIPS BBS and get it to us before midnight July 1st, 1994.
All entries will be judged by a *very* tough panel of Ven-Tel employees
for creativity and marketing appeal.

        The creator of the best ANSI screen and the creator of the best
RIP graphic screen will have their work displayed as the new opening
screen for TIPS BBS and will each receive a brand new EC144FAX modem
from Ven-Tel, Inc.  Employees of Ven-Tel, Inc. and their families are
not eligible and this contest is void where prohibited by law. Entries
may be submitted directly by uploading them to TIPS BBS 24 hours a day
at (408) 922-0988 8-N-1.  Entries may also be uploaded as a message in
the ANSI-ART conference of any BBS that is a member of the U'NI-net echo
mail network addressed to WM DUEMLER, or as email addressed to
wm...@netcom.com, but delivery may not be as reliable as a direct upload
to TIPS.  3.5" diskettes with entries may be mailed to:

        The winning screen must display the names of TIPS BBS and
Ven-Tel, Inc. as well as the main public access telephone number.  The
winning entry may also include mention of the U'NI-net echo mail network
and the artist's name.  Animations (RIP or ANSI) not exceeding 2.5
minutes when viewed by a user at 2400 baud are welcome.  RIP entries
must not use any custom icons or other files that must be downloaded by
a user before the opening screen can be viewed.  All entries become the
property of Ven-Tel, Inc. and may be used at any time in the future by
Ven-Tel, Inc. or TIPS BBS without further compensation to the artists or
their agents.  Ven-Tel reserves the right to reject any submissions it
deems unsuitable.  In the event that no opening screen is deemed worthy
or useful, or if the winner cannot be reached within 30 days after the
close of the contest, a random drawing from the names of all entrants
will be held to award the prizes.

        BE SURE TO INCLUDE A VOICE TELEPHONE NUMBER WHERE YOU CAN BE
REACHED BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8 A.M. AND 5 P.M. (PST) SO YOU CAN BE
NOTIFIED IF YOU ARE THE WINNER.  IF WE CANNOT REACH YOU, YOUR MODEM WILL
BE GIVEN AWAY IN A RANDOM DRAWING.
