Lester,
I was wonderin' if you was my old pal, Lester Hickens, from over by Atwood. If so, I ain't seen you since Lee-Don hung his
coon dawg on aksident by tyin' it to the spare tire in the back of the pickup an' it jumped out. You 'member, I'm sure. The way
that there rope wrapped aroundt the rear tire, takin' Ol' Brownie along with it, sure din't give that dawg much of a chance. I was
wonderin', if you ever did git all that rope un-wrapped from your driveshaft? I hope so.
It has been so long, I want you to know I married up with a page-three girl, an' have been very happy. Did you ever marry up
with that Stringfeller girl? I reckolect her name was Sally. I liked her a lot, even if she was missen them there front teeth on
the right side. I bet you have a real passel of kids by now. I got five.
Anyways, Lester, I were real good to hear from you, even through this here on-line type communication. I is sure hopin' that
you will come by soon though, an' we can pull a cork together. It sure was nice of you to ree-post to that there cartoon I run
here. I am glad you liked it. I hope I kin make some more cartoons that is worth laffin' at.
Thanks agin, an' don't let Lee-Don put no more coon dawgs in the back of yer truck.

No no no.... Lee-Don did not kilt poor ol' Brownie on dee-liberate. It were total askident, like I done said. The trouble was,
Brownie kept jumpin' out of the back of the pickup truck. After the third or fourth time of havin' tah stop and put 'im back in,
Lee-Don were pretty mad.
Brownie, after all, was holdin' up the entire operation. Now, what he did, was tie Brownie's leash to one of them wells in the top
of the pickup bed. He jus' figgered this would keep Brownie from jumpin' out. Din't work. Brownie was too determined to hop out.
Jumped anyway. Since we was goin' on down the road, that were not a bright thing to do. The poor dawg was still roped up, an' the
rope got caught 'round the back wheel. Of course, this wrapped the rope, and ol' Brownie along with it. We stopped, as quick as we
done noticed. Lee-Don remarked, just as we was hittin' the brakes, that +ACI-Maybe jumpin' out an' gittin' draggedt like that ah'll
teach 'im a lesson.+ACI- It sure did. The lesson were learned to Lee-Don+ADs- he learnt not to leash a dawg up in the back of a pickup,
unless the leash is so short, the dawg cain't jump out.
What wuz really bad about this, were the fact that we had six dawgs in the back, but Brownie were the only one any good. Robert
Hammonds owned the other five, but they never treed nuthin' but 'possums. Brownie were the only coon dawg we had that would tree
actual coons. This put a real hurt on our coon-huntin' operations. All wuz mighty grieved over the loss of poor ol' Brownie.
Now, it mite be possible, however, that Lee-Don has gone on to the life of a serial killer. I don't thank so, but I will allow
to you that anythin' is possible. I figger not, though. And I point out that he din't kill poor Brownie on a'purpose, at all. I
haven't seen him in years, though, so he mite be a cereal killer, after all.
