Maybe it's just a matter of taste, but you managed to produce what I was trying to _avoid_. Your figure looks quite stiff and blocky. I really did want to give the picture a soft, misty look. My normal media are pencil, paint, watercolor and india ink. The most annoying thing I've found about doing ascii art is how _crude_ it is. Smooth curves don't tend to lend themself well to ascii art.
