Google

I did a search on the new Google Groups thing and found a post from
1996. So it looks like they have or are bringing back some of the
older content. When they first started they only had three years
worth.

its been about a month now that they have had the archive going back
to 1995.  it was announced on /. and other netnews places.  
when they first acquired deja they only went back to august

I hope they go back far enough to get some of the really early stuff
from the newsgroup. I'd like to see some of the art from Scarecrow and
the others who began the ascii newsgroup.

Scarecrow seemed most active in rec.arts.ascii (which he moderated).
Advanced searches limited to that group should find some stuff, but
they only go back to 1995 or so, so "really early" is out.
