Do anyone heard of the Japanese comics/cartoon star Doraemon? Can you
take a ASCII photo of that nice robot?

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light!
For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
 And the sun will rise

Its wonderfull, looks like dogbert.BUt perhaps the
best way to display these to the world would be to
take a screen shot and then post to Alt.binaries.pictures.ascii,
or even host a web page with them.

By the way,IT would be cool if you would put them on
a page.I would like to see more.

Check out Kamui's website at http://members.aol.com/kamuiyoo/index.htm
There's some very clever usage of Japanese code sets. Maybe someone
could start an alt.ISO-2022-JP-art newsgroup...

alt.unicode-art

See http://www.unicode.org/charts/ for the characters you get with
full Unicode support.

See http://czyborra.com/unifont/ for one attempt to put it all into
a single font. It is not quite fixed width: characters can be either
of two widths. All the things currently in ascii would be a single
size, though. Only complicated stuff like Katakana uses the double
width.

There, that's better! I guess.

Have you tried (X)emacs? I know it supports all kinds of encodings on
*nix Systems, Don't know why it shouldn't do so on Wind~1, either...

I havent...There is a shareware editor for japanese with a good interface,
but you have to buy it b4 you can change fonts to something othere than
the crappy one they supply. It wouldn't be a good choice for doin kana art
but its been a good year or so since i was looking for such a thing.Maybe
things are different now....I am assuming that all the kana art is bieng
done in MS Gothic by the way,or is there a standard spacing for japanese
characters in computer text?
