Readers,

I love to scan over this subject, and even though I have no talent at
all in making the beautiful ASCII creations others produce, I have taken
note (pun intended) of talk about playing music on the PC speaker, etc.
I'm not really sure, but with DOS 5.0 and greater they've included the 
programming language QBASIC.  Yes, it's very kunky and nothing like C
but you can write music to play on it, and anyone who has DOS 5.0+ can
take the text file and play it.  If this is somewhat along the lines of 
what you're looking for, let me know and I'll post or email some info
along with some little tunes I've made.
