OK, here's my idea. Whether or not anyone takes it up remains to be seen of
course!
The idea is this. Throughout December (from 1st to 24th) I will endeavour to
post one Christmas related picture a day in a kind 'Advent Calendar' type
thing. What I need is that people should pick a day from the list below and
put their name onto it. (I`m hoping the thread doesn`t get totally screwed
up and have more than one person on a day, but if this happens I will have
to operate a first-come-first-serve system and relocate anyone else onto
adjacent days. After you have added your name to my list, send me an email
containing your picture for the day (so that it is a surprise!) and I will
put your pic up on or near the day concerned (my news feed may cause a delay
on some of them, and I also may post a few on one day ... but I will try to
remain as close as possible) along with some other christmas related object
(christmas carol or something).

Here's the list. Only one day per person to start off with please, but if
there is a slow uptake then someone can grab some extra spaces!)

I have an additional thought...
Perhaps everyone could do something related to what everybody's probably
doing that day?
i.e. on the 1st, putting up the lights on the house, 10th or 20th decorating
the tree, 15th or somewhere there rush shopping, 23rd REAL rush shopping ;),
24th putting the presents under the tree...

Just an idea, though. :)

I`m sorry to say that 21st is already taken by Hilton Janfield. I`ve skipped
you on to 22nd but let me know if you have a strong objection to being the
22nd and want to move somewhere else.

Praseodymium 59... although I may have recieved them by the time this is
read since I write my messages offline then go online and check my email and
newsgroups. :o)

Since the list isn't filling up very fast, I'll also take the first *unless
anybody else wants it*. We really need to fill up the first few days before

Martin can I have 5 december? :-) I haven't done any xmas stuff yet,
but I've just done a rather large Sinterklaas and Zwarte piet that would

The major reason why I don`t use that character is because in some fonts
it's wonky. Also, it symetrifies (??? <g>) with the . better. Nice
suggestion though! :o)
