Nana!  Please don't be so down-hearted!  If I could I would post through
misc.misc.  As it is, I can only post to one newsgroup at a time.  AOL
does not allow for cross-posting-- perhaps in their fight against spam.
I'mhoping that whatever problems this newsgroup has, it will work it's 
way out.  There is a war on spam-  it will take time until the battle is over.
I'm guessing that spam will lose... but it won't go entirely away.

That seems likely. People don't often complain if they don't experience
a problem... (and some who do experience a problem can't complain, like
llizard whose posts don't reach outside her local server...)  :)

Probably many more people care about alt.ascii-art than you think.

They simply do not express their views but post pictures instead.

The group has been going since September 1993 and has had its ups 
and downs but in my view the signal-to-noise ratio has always been
high relative to many other newsgroups.

Most of the irritations pass in the course of time.
