Im looking for a program that will convert plain text into ASCII grafitti style text (i.e. replacing characters with extended characters etc.) anyone know of any such thing? also, i found a program that will convert gifs and jpgs into ascii images but there were many programs to choose from with varying qualities. is there one that stands out as the best ascii converter? thanks -giznad

There is figlet , which can be found many places - I use www.surfplaza.com/figlet/ > also, i found a program that will convert gifs and jpgs into ascii > images but there were many programs to choose from with varying > qualities. is there one that stands out as the best ascii converter? IMO the best currently is Jave ( www.jave.de ) and this is partly due to the input from this group and that Markus that programs it is such a nice guy, eventhough we are so demanding of his program. If you find a better .. please let us know. There is currently a content going on which is also being hosted on www.jave.de to determine the best image->ascii converter (but it's still not done .. mostly because people forget sending in submissions of converted pictures - I will submit some soon myself using jave and some others). Jave also includes a figlet tool, it's a great place to start if you're a ascii-newbie. It works just like a image-editor .. a very advanced one i might add - Even Photoshop don't have some of the things jave can do like f.x bezierlines (btw .. was that my suggestion ? I submitted so many I can't remember them all) Sincerly CeeJay
