convert BMP to ASCII

I created a shareware utility (CHARPIX.EXE) to convert BMP images to
ASCII text.  If you are interested, you can download it from America
Online's
software area (graphics and animation).  Just search for CHARPIX.

DOS version is included, but the 32bit version is much faster (created on 
Windows NT but Win95 SHOULD work too).  Comments are welcome.

For those of you lucky enough to not be on aol, I've put it up on ftp. 
You can get it at members.aol.com:/leaper47

I haven't had time to try it out yet, so I'm not making any promises.

Is there anyone who has any utility like this for mac? i've tried gifscii, but 
it says i need a math co-proccesor (no, i don't have one. Shocking isn't it, 
but some of us just have 040 macs without these wondrous things) Is it true 
that it actually needs the co-proccesor, or is it just fibbing to me?

Arr did not know that one existed have been useing lview or some other
converter to covert it to gif then use gif to ascii.

I would also like to know where I can dl it from? I don't use aol, so I 
hope it is accessible somewhere on the net. If it isn't, maybe you could 
dl it onto an anon ftp site? Thank you in advance,..what a cool idea :)
