Is rec.arts.ascii defunct? I ask because my news server has had no new
posts to it for several months.

Nope, just moribund.

It is a moderated newsgroup and if the moderator does not get any
postings nothing appears in the newsgroup.

Submit a posting to the group and see what happens !

I am not sure, whether the demise is good news or bad. Rather than having
fragmented resources spread thin in several newsgroups, it could well be
better to consolidate the resources in a few strong newsgroups.

I did, two days ago, and I think that rec.arts.ascii is more than
moribund, it's flat-out kaput.
