Excellent repost, Shimrod. I laugh to much to add to it, at this time.
Here's my version of your suggested "lawyerstein":

As you can see from the above picture, lawyerstein's head is so far up his
ass, that he has disappeared from view.

ROFLMAO! That's so stupid that it's actually funny! This is probably the
first good joke Pete ever made. What's he gonna do if someone doesn't
include his silly copyright notice? Send Lawyersteins after him? I hope
Pete will tell us what his legal advisor said after he stopped laughing.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Oops, sorry, I wasn't quite done laughing after all, that just slipped.

Keep them good jokes coming Pete!

Surprise, surprise! I got word that Spunkystein and llizardstein have
copyright notices on their webpages! What do you say now, Shimrodstein?
The idea does not appear that stupid to other stakeholders on this
newsgroup ...

Responding to the other posting in this thread, Jonnystein does sound like
someone who does not get much credit in his life, and he is now telling us
not to expect any credits either ...

Sorry flump, your kind words are well taken, it is just the Grandpa
Devilstein in me who could not resist throwing things back at people.

Yes, I have a copyright on my webpage-- so what? I have my ASCII art on
the internet to share freely with others. If I didn't want to share them, I'd
keep them to myself. I expect people to use them-- and I don't mind people
using them for private use and entertainment. What I do not want to see is
my artwork being used to someone else's financial benefit. If and when I
find that happening, without my knowledge and approval, I will follow-up with
the copyright legalities.
... and please cease with the 'stein after referring to me. I am *not* one of
your "groupies" or "followers".

Why can't you end this flinging/flaming/throwing back at people? It reminds
me of my age-school children bickering with one another. I would hope that
you could behave better than a 7 year old.

Well, you began renaming me, so I renamed you :-)

I do throw things back at people, but what you forget to say is that it is
people like YOURSELF who always BEGIN throwing things at me. The latest
example is that I announced "Text Art Plus" for people to enjoy, and you
(and Veronica) started to throw things at me.

THAT poisons the atmosphere.

Therefore, if YOU want to behave better than a 7 year old, my dear, than
YOU better stop taking such unsavory alternatives.

It is really very simple: If you don't want me to throw things back at
you, don't throw things at me in the first place!

P.S. I can't help finding it despicable, YOU started bickering like a 7
year old, and then try to accuse me of that!

Yes, folks, when reading the dejanews archives pay attention to the
insinuations in Spunkystein's articles, such as the one that Colin
recently fell for. I find these insinuations despicable.

A very sick puppy is surprisingly innocuous compared to the things that
have been thrown at me, you can expect more excitement at the dejanews
archives, folks!

Well, you (and Veronicastein) fired the first shots, I invite you to stop
first, ha!

Sorry folks, this crap may or may not continue!

My dear Veronicastein, you should learn how to give constructive
criticism, because that's definitely not what you do.

After you ran out of arguments in a rational discussion, you asked for
public help in your efforts to insult me.

This is consistent with your behavior in the past, posting anything from
cannibalism to clubbing with baseball bats, and any other perversions that
you can think of. I invite everyone on this newsgroup to convince
him/herself at the dejanews archives.

Sorry everyone, we all have to continue putting up with this crap.

To complain to one person that something he posted is not suitable for
the group is something that should be done directly to that person. I
agree with you on this but in this case it was a question of where the
line should be drawn, what is ascii art and what is not ascii art, and I
feel that that IS relevant to more than one person in this group (which
is more than one can say about your post).

I never intended to be a "spam police", I intended to question wether
this "TAP" stuff could be called "ascii art" or not, in other words a
fundamental question about how we define the pictures that are the
reason for the existence of the group. From the responses I have seen so
far I draw the conclusion that those who have some deeper insight into
how computers work seem to agree with me that PC's "TAP" does not belong
here and those who never bothered their brains with ones and zeros but
look more at the artistic side of it seem to have the opinion that it
does.

Wow! Veronicastein looks well developed for a 7 year old! But she has yet
to learn about gentler ways for making love!

This a little bit more complex. If I tell someone that the picture X
was made by Y by email only, no other 'clueless newbie' will see this
information. Result : I have to write more and more often the same
email to a lot of people. Solution : Post the same message to the Usenet
where many people will read it and understand that as an example for a
more
general principle. ;)

This is true for helpful advice as well as for criticism.

That's what I like most : people who write DO THIS while doing
exactely the opposite. :(

Oh sure! Something had to be done. Thanx very much! ;)

Special message to you :
The whole thread wasn't very nice but somehow only your posting makes me
angry enough to answer to only one person... :(
