Hello,

I've discovered ASCII-art three days ago, and I decided to try.
Here is the drawing I made, and I'd like to know how it looks like ...

                    ,---,

A number of groups (e.g. alt.binaries.pictures.astro) do have
the recommendation that people put something like [GROUP-SUBJECT] in
the subject of each message, to make filtering out spam easier. It's
never more than a "recommendation" though.

Are you seeing enough spam on this group to make this useful?

I only see the occassional one.

If such a [practice][became][popular] or a standard, and so be useful,
would not the spammers adjust to it?

I have used [] tags here when posting. [PIC] to let people know that
it did indead contain a new ascii art by me and [nude] just to let
people know if it was NSFW in case they were expecting a butterfly and
got a boobie. In a group as small as this one tags aren't
particularrly useful. In news.software.readers they come in handy
because you can instantly filter out posts about newsreaders that
aren't yours. In binarries groups tags are esential because you do
not want to download a 400 half meg posts just to find out that it
involves something that Tran would be interested in.
In groups that get more than 200 posts a day tags are helpful for
marking OT posts, FAQs etc.

OA: Mushroom discriptions. I did this so that once I get around to
installing fixed fonts onto my palm I can have this on the go without
carring a book around. I almost feel like I am stepping on the toes
of LGB since these are 'technical' drawings. But he does heavy
machinery and mushrooms just aren't quite the same. BTW LGB I have a
few pics of a pipe laying machine on wheels I saw if you want them to
asciify.

I have spent the last month or so identifying all of the mushrooms I
have found around here in the summer time. It has been a long hard
process. But once it is done I will be able to put them up on a newly
designed site along with all of my ascii.

Butterflies are not enough for you??? Eclectic tastes you have
bf/pr0n/mushies! ;)

Mushrooms are sometimes used in RPG/RL's as a type of food that has
effects on the PC.

See the new mobile phone RL : Dweller which has mushies for 1 pt health;
http://www.roguelikedevelopment.org/dweller

If I was ever to do my BRL (Big RogueLike using ASCII graphics) it seems
those mushrooms could come in handy :)

And sewing, cooking, unix, armour, jewlery, book colecting,
anthropology, geology, well a lot of -ology things.

But not the -ology things that are evil like scientology, astrology,
etc.

I am now 10 years clean from D&D, 8 years clean from LARP and Tragic
the Addiction.
