[DIS] Program to convert ASCII block diagrams to graphic images?

Hi. I do a lot of RFC-style ascii block diagrams like the one below for technical documents. I am interested in finding a program that converts ascii block diagrams into nice looking graphics images. For example:
+--------+ +--------+ +--------+ | Client | <--> | Filter | <--> | Server | +--------+ data +--------+ data +--------+
Could be converted to a nice 3-d block graphic for use in presentations etc. Does anyone know of software to do this? Any info appreciated. Thanks!
