HELP! COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S HAPPENED TO JOAN STARK, Spunk1111?

Could someone please tell me what's happened to Joan Stark, Spunk1111?
I have neither seen her work, nor heard anything from or about her in
a long time.

I was wondering the same thing.  The only place I've seen her work recently
is in other people's collections.  Her website appears vanished.  Anyone
know if it moved somewhere?

anymore.
It appears that she has vanished from the Net...
She was the undisputed Queen of ASCII Art in every forum
I ever saw her work in.
Keep looking. Somebody, somewhere knows what's happened.

OK .. relax now..
Her site IS on the net .. it's just so popular that is often exceeds the
bandwidth limit on GeoCities.

As for Joan herself I do not know .. but sometimes people take a break from
ascii-art , newsgroups and computers even.
2� years ago I took a 1 year break and then resumed creating ascii.
.. I seem to be on a break too when It comes to creating new stuff right now ,
but I'm just so swamped in work that I lack the energy and inspiration to do it
frequently.

Joan probably have a reason.

There are also other wellknown ascii-artist that dont post here anymore.

You might be right, CeeJay.  However, for a long while now,
both URLs revert to http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/7373/ with the
message,

I have not been able to access this address for many months.
Too, I have never seen this message before, no matter
how many hits a URL was receiving per day.
Earlier, Joan left http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/7373/
and got her own URL address at http://www.ascii-art.com/
The latter address is the last that I saw of her web page.
I think she may be gone from both alt.ascii-art and the Net.
Wherever she is, I know a lot of people wish her well.
And you are right...  others have disappeared, too.

She's got 4 kids, a husband, a house and a life on top of that. Last
time I talked to her she was just busy. The site is there Geocities is
just kidnapping it, trying to make her pay for the space there. 

Her email address bounced last time I tried it but she's probably
around somewhere.
