Andreas Freise <ad...@mpq.mpg.de> ASCII art 16 Apr 2000 00:00 · raw headers · report
In Germany there are - this year - quite a few exhibitions about
the 'classic' modern artists Marc, Kandinsky and others. The one
in Bremen is called "Der Blaue Reiter". That has been the name of
the today famous exhibition in 1911 and also the name of the 'group'
founded by Kandinsky and Marc.

Accompanied by a large scale advertising campaign the exhibition
is an in thing. All the advertisements feature a logo which as
far as I know is a design from today. With this I tried for the first
time the notorious "overlay" method, i.e. I typed the Ascii over
a (scanned) image. I found copying itself rather boring but the
technique easier than I thought. This is the first try :

Later I played around with some background because I didn't

Yes, rather funny. Didn't help. So coming back to my favorite
small outline style - here's the direct result for a smaller picture:

                J <. / /
                ( (.`' /.--._
     ..--+--.. \ `- // ,)-,)
   .' _..-. `"" ,'/'//
  ( .-' .' .',''J'
  |.' __> .' "'
  `' '.-""`.. /"""
     .' `'
   -' a:f

and with a bit of 'anti-dot' I think it's OK :
