     A rather odd collection of groups you chose to cross-post
  this to, but in anycase: Why would you want to uninstall this
  new version? Are there any paticular drawbacks that come
  to mind?

I had a similar problem with microsoft v2 last year taking over
everything. I had to reinstall win 95 and Netscape 2 to get back up and
running. I certainly won't be trying Microsoft's new offering for this
very reason. They may have fixed it, but I don't have the spare time to
give them a second chance to screw me up. What I have, works. It will
take an awful to get me to risk a brand switch on spec.

What do you mean by "the latest verion of Navigator"? If you meant the
preview of Communicator, you asked for it. It is not a released version.
At least, Netscape told you that it is a beta version. Not like some of 
the companies put their beta test as released version. 

Yeah, reject as you want. Whom to choose from then?  Lynx?

I don't know, but Navigator is working fine for me. And the Communicator
Previews have so far been amazing. Preview 2 stopped working on me, so I
got rid of it. No, problem. 

I think this is a nasty rumour that Microsoft and all those loyal to them,
are trying to make up.

I'm using the latest netscape 4pr3 and the new IE pr, I've installed
and uninstalled both and didn't have any probs.. I dunno what they're
doing wrong, or if this is even a real mag article..
My advice is ta try it yerself, and see what happens..
I'm running win95OEM2 w/FAT32...No probs at all, other than the
occasional kernel32.dll crash that seems to happen alot after I
install oem2 :)

btw: WTF? Ya spammed this acrossed several newsgroups, I appoligize to
ya all for replyin back, but maybe the original poster of this will
see it this way..

I think it may have to do more with removing SHARED 
files.  It seems that the modern versions of 
software check to see if the modules that are 
required to run are already installed on the 
machine.  If so it uses them instead of 
reinstalling additionaql copies.  It's just that 
when use remove the software you have to be careful 
not to tell it to remove the files that are used by 
other programs.  hince SHARED files.  If you do 
then the other software won't run.  I hope this 
helps.
