you cannot play the game this way I guess ;)
during the time when you try to get your position and the positions of your
enemy you're already dead. but looks "interesting".

I've already seen Star Wars Episode 4 (a new hope) as animated ascii. was
really nice (found the link:  start -> run -> telnet
towel.blinkenlights.nl).

I've tested the aalib with mplayer months ago, and took a screenshot... It
works fine for me
