For those out there who are wondering how I got the smooth depth
changes on the stairs, here is how I did it:
In stead of matching the sides, | and | or / and /, I put
a | and a /, which is actually a mini version of:

X X
X X
X X
X X
But since it is at a much higher resoloution, it gives smooth depth
changes on the line.
