Yes...here's a Java app. program that does it for you.  You just click
on where it says "Start Ascii Draw", and after it all finishes loading,
you take yer mouse and start drawing(hold the mouse button down while
dragging your line), then press where it says to convert (or whatever it
says, I forget exactly) and ta da...you see you little masterpiece in
ascii form for you cut and paste to Notepad, then use.  Have fun!

yup, there is!

(Though, no _real_ ascii artists use one)

Drawing:

Ascii Paint [Mac]
The Draw [PC] (Ascii and ANSI)

Lettering

FIGlet [Most platforms]

Converting

Gif2ANSI [PC]

I'm also aware of a mac-program for converting PICTS to ascii, 
anyone know how to get this and it's name?

(I know of a site, but it's always busy)
