You can do this with almost all texteditors :
Seach for a space and replace it with
The best way to do this and also reduce the size of the HTML page.
Enclose your ASCII drawings with the "<pre>" tag.
This displays all the spaces in the browser without the need of

And how about the ability to insert 3D ascii primitives ? (and I don't mean Krogg :) or Ascii Fractals ? BTW do you have some good guidelines (or sourcecode) on how to render a simple mandelbrot or julia ? I was thinking of creating a small program using this .. and NO i'm not going to tell you more about it, because you'll just program it in 5 minutes and I'll be left with out a sense of acomplishment :P

I could send you the source code from my Mandelbrot/Julia implementation - but it is adopted to the characteristic features of Jave (it produces pixels and Jave converts it to ascii) and I think it is a better idea to do a search on google to find source code for this. > and NO i'm not going to > tell you more about it, because you'll just program it in 5 minutes and I'll be > left with out a sense of acomplishment :P :-) 1) It took me more than two days to write the Mandelbrot Tool - and it is not worked out good enough to be included in Jave 1.1 yet 2) Even if it might sometimes look like that, I do not want to show others "Hey, look at me. I can do it better!". I just want to play around with those fancy ideas about what to do with ascii characters. By doing this I get a better idea of how to use it and can develop other things perhaps nobody thought about before. E.g. by rewriting the 3d renderer I found out a new style for the generic tools in Jave. By rewriting a fractal renderer I improved the existent algorithms. 3) I do not want to snatch away ideas from others. At the moment I have so many ideas of my own - and there is a list of about 500 lines of text with lots of great ideas for improving Jave - and some of those even came from you :-) Markus
