Just before my return flight from Gatwick, I bought several boxes of Kellogg's Sugar Smacks in a small London grocery. It wasn't (necessarily) because I knew what Caledonian Airlines' in-flight meals would be...but that the United Kingdom sold cereal boxes I had never before seen -- and never would again. STAR TREK's Mr. Spock was featured on the front of these boxes, holding a phaser that looked more like a toy squirt-gun/camera. The back featured pictures of five collector buttons, with art work on par with Spock's picture (surpassed by the ascii below). It also had the Enterprise flying with its saucer upside-down. And all sides were covered with information that plumbed new depths of wry British humour. Further Proof (with b&w photo): Cover/article in the #8 issue (1992) of FLAKE Magazine (people actually collect this stuff), "A friend of Leonard Nimoy recently slapped down $1000 for one of these boxes as a birthday present for his pal. He says Nimoy hadn't known it existed." (Whoa. $1000 for the _later_ 1970 box with the NASA buttons... hmmmm, I wonder what this thing's worth _now_?)
