	This bird is called "Majna" in Polish but I have no idea
what's its name in Latin or English. (But it is not a parrot).

I don't actually speak Polish, but if my assumption that the 'j' in the
middle is used as a vowel, I'd say it's a Mynah (sp?) bird.

 'j' in Polish is like a short 'i', or a 'y' consonant. Together
 makes a  hard-A and a short-I  like "die monat Mai"  (the month
 of May) in German;  or my, dye, tie, high &c in English.

 Yes---same word.  I think it may have come from something like
 Malay & been copied sound-for-sound into various european tongues.

	I think you are right -- the pronunciation is exactly
the same.
