flying, giant gopher with a sly grin and a loud roar, and a benign
character.  He seems to represent a sort of "Spirit of the Forest".

It's a "fantasy creature" (hem, not quite sure of this expression)
that appears in a Hayao Miyasaki film, "Tonari no totoro".
More recent films from the same director: Porco Rosso, Mononoke Hime...
