hello my name is mark, and my roommate jay and i are looking for a really cool ASCII image of a skull. We don't want one w/ cross bones, and we aren't looking for one that is too big.. small to medium is good. but we want it to look cool. we are computer scientists, and we are on a team and our name is the __DeathCoders__ and we would like a cool ASCII image to go with it... please address any email to kuc...@mindspring.com Thanks so much!!
I know- a little early... someone was looking for Jewish related ASCII art
not so long ago-- here is a new one from me:

Neither am I, but I have read some books about Judaism and I seemed to
remember this. The books are at my parents' house so I cannot check it
rightaway. The point is, the candlestick with eight arms and a sidekick
is used in chanukah (well, you knew that, obviously) but maybe it can
also be called a menorah, as a more general term. I didn't think of
this possibility when I wrote my follow-up. I hope my rantings don't
disturb you.. :-)

This is great, Joan! But isn't this a chanukiah? It has eight normal
candleholders, and one extra (the shomer, or guardian) that can be detached
to light the other ones (the first day one candle, the second day two, and
so forth). As far as I know, a menorah has seven arms.. but I may be mistaken.

If you want to argue, go to soc.jew or something. anyhow, a menorah is just a candelabra. When you speak of a menora and you know any hebrew, you refer to the 7 branched thing used as the symbol for israel. If you had no knowledge of judiaism at all, you would refer to the chanukiah as a menorah. --

This allows for the 4 candles on each side of the Schamos, which is taller than the rest and the others are lit from. Each night, for all 8 nights, the candles are lit progressively. The first is lit on the first night. The first and second on the second night, and so on through all 8 nights, until all are lit. It is only used at the time of Chanukah and as the candles are lit a rememberance blessing is said. It is a fun holidays for the children, steeped in family tradition.
