a good way to keep in touch with other ascii art fans.

Presently, there are forums for such... see:

   1) alt.ascii-art newsgroup on USENET
   2) ASCIIART Listserve mailing list out of University of Kentucky
To subscribe to the ASCII ART Listserve Mailing list,
email: LIS...@LSV.UKY.EDU Write in the message body:
        SUBscribe ASCIIART <full name> ( <full name> is optional)
After that, send any ASCII to ASC...@LSV.UKY.EDU
   3) SIG-LIST Mailing List To subscribe to the SIG-LIST Mailing list,
        email: sig...@makelist.com
   4) There is an online web-based chat thanks to Veronica Karlsson

Hayley, I just looked through the motd archives (great!!) But this
cartoon of
Jonathon Oglesbee's got a bit mangled. It's one of my favourites of his
cartoons so I decided to repost it here.

What is Hayley's list like? Surely she doesn't send out a new ascii
every day?

:-) Well, yes I do. But not my own ascii. I try to send out a pic
by someone else that I like every day (or when I get round to it).
I steer away from the stuff that's ohn just about every web site
and has been around for ages, and try instead to use pieces that
are little known, but still great, or funny, or clever.

There's other stuff on the daily message apart from ascii. If
you want to know more about it, have a look at:

http://www.xs4all.nl/~klr/motd.html

To subscribe, just send a smily mail to flumpatquadrant.xs4all.nl,
(you know what to do with the address) and mention that you want to
be added to the motd list. :) the list isn't so big thaat I'm using
a bot yet, so you can put what you like where you like in the message.

Laura,

Sure she could. I used to make three toons ah day, when I weren't
doin' nuthin' else, sides tankin' up on hootch an' fightin' with
that bunch of hillbillys what used to live down the road. They's all
goed away, now, an' I been workin' on sumthin' fer a bit. When I's
done, I mite jus' have time to turn out one a day or so, agin... If
I doan dee-cide to jus' stay tanked up, that is.

    Anyways, sure, she could.
