I've been sick this weekend. Spoiled all our plans for a weekend off.
But I did make this ascii pic so there is at least one good thing.  :)

PS: Hello to Christ. You must have seen some really good ascii if
you've been lurking in the group that long. Do you have a few
favourites saved?

Too bad. Being sick is never nice or easy. I spent a week in bed at the
end of last year. 'Nice' pic (pic's nice, subject isn't) by the way!

Hm. That's a sore spot you've hit there... I'm afraid I must confess
that only _very_ recently (just about... uhm... this evening (why can't
these fonts be any smaller!)) decided that I _should_ save some ASCII
art. So, unfortunately, until now I've depended on others to make huge
archives of ASCII art.

I _have_ seen some pretty darn good ASCII over the years. It's had to
say what I like most.

Line drawings (esp. the _very_ small ones), if done well (Veronica's
Waterfall comes to mind) are very nice. A _good_ picture conversion
also 'hits the spot'. The even older (I'm not that terribly old,
though...) printing art (mostly of nude ladies) is very nice, as well.
As soon as I can immediately tell what it's supposed to be, I'll go
_wow_ and let it soak in.

Btw. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but someone started
a site with all sorts of 80's (and partly 70's and 90's) text files.
This includes lots of texts from the beginning of Internet, and Usenet
(_way_ before www came to be), including ASCII art. It may be nice to
see such 'old' art after so much time. It's something like
http://www.asciitexts.com.

Almost correct:  http://www.textfiles.com . I think you'll like it.

I will practise my drawing techniques (not that I have any at the moment).
And start saving art. I promise! I really do!

The URL was at the ODP waiting for me today. I added it to the
database. Its mostly nude figures (female of course). But if you back
track and go to the main page you will find a link to "Humour" in
there is another link to a page with more ascii art. There was more
variety in this second link. It was an interesting site. There was
more to look at than nude women or ascii art.  :)
