no moderator for rec.arts.ascii?

Hello everybody!

First, I am sorry for my bad English, I am from Germany and learned 
just a few words at school. I also hope this is the right group for 
my question, I don't know, the international usenet is a little bit 
differnt to the German-speaking one.

I am an ascii fan, I really love the art you can do with letters. 
Beginning in alt.ascii-art we've got now our own German-speaking 
Ascii-Art group. 

But there is another ascii group called rec.arts.ascii. It is a 
moderated group, first moderated by Bob Allison and, 
http://www.fmf.nl/~shimrod/asciiart/FAQ.html#old says, now by Don 
Bertino. I tried to contact him but I got no answer until today. I 
think this group could be a nice collection of FAQs and some good 
ascii arts (maybe we should think about changing the charta first). 

But if there is no moderator and no posting over month, the group 
can't be such a collection.

Now my question: Does anybody know about the moderator and if not, 
how can a new one be elected? I would do, if you would like me to. 
Maybe also a group of 3 moderators, one from the Polish ascii group, 
one from the English-speaking and one from the German?
