Looks like you need a little clarification here...
English "section" === German "Paragraph"
English "paragraph" === German "Absatz"
AFAIK (I'm not a lawyer) they're both used in legal context ("section
13, paragraph A" -> "Paragraph 13, Absatz A"), but it's the latter
that's used for paragraphs of texts, i.e. sets of lines of text
separated by blank lines.
This separation of paragraphs has always been designated by many word
processing packages with this character:
